High Spot in Broad List Covering Fuels, Biobased Chemicals and Materials Affirms Company’s Progress
CARLSBAD, Calif — February 18, 2016 —Verdezyne, Inc., a synthetic biology company focused on producing biobased chemicals, has placed number 17 in the “Hot 50,” an annual ranking of the top companies in the advanced bioeconomy from The Digest (also known as Biofuels Digest). A widely-cited list, the Hot 50 recognizes companies that have distinguished themselves both in the industry and with the public.
“Building on our previous rankings in The Digest’s ‘Hot 30’ and ‘Hot 40,’ we are particularly pleased with this recognition from The Digest,” commented E. William Radany, Ph.D., President and CEO of Verdezyne. “Given that featured companies were chosen from a wide pool of related industries, including fuels and materials as well as biobased chemicals, our number 17 ranking here is particularly significant and an affirmation of our steady progress toward bringing biobased chemical alternatives to global markets.”
This is Verdezyne’s first appearance in the Hot 50. The rankings, which recognize innovation and achievement in fuels, biobased chemicals and materials are based 50% on votes from an invited panel of distinguished international selectors, and 50% on votes from subscribers to The Digest. Invited selectors include equity analysts, investors, journalists, CEOs, and industry executives in 20 countries — who consider more than 300 pages of data on eligible companies when making their selections.
The announcement was made live at the Advanced Bioeconomy Leadership Conference held in Washington, D.C. on February 17-18.
